My Little Chef: Basic Sugar Cookies

I was meaning to post this last weekend but things just got so hectic. I barely had time to step into my blogs.  Usually I would upload picture and title my posts then save it as drafts.  Just so I wouldn't forget to work on it once I get my fingertips on my laptop.

The month of April was cooking sessions for the preschoolers. I'm glad we got a well-rounded PS teacher.  She touched base on almost everything, which I liked the most.
A couple of weeks ago, they made Fruit Jellos, which I posted ahead of this.  This was actually their first session.  But I have to wait for more pictures of the finish product.  We actually made it at home too, just so I have an image to show you.

My daughter told me that they took turns adding in ingredients and mixing the batter,
which worked pretty well since they handmixed them.
I think these kids would be wonderful in Kindergarten.
They were trained to be one by following directions pretty great.
They received little help from their teacher since everyone cooperated well.

Basic Sugar Cookie

 2-1/4 cups flour
3/4 cups sugar
1 cup softened butter
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg yolk
1/2 tsp. salt

Beat the butter and sugar together in a bowl.
Add the eggyolk and vanilla extract.  Beat the mixture until it is smooth.
Add the flour and salt, and mix everything together to form a smooth dough.
Mold the dough into a ball.  Wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven 350F. Line the cookie sheet.
Scoop out about 1 teaspoonful of the dough and place it on the cookie sheet.
Repeat till the batter is done.

I hope you enjoyed this post!
Happy Baking, everyone!
