K-Bento: Waffles and Bacons

My Kindergartner, Missy A is a number 1 breakfast eater at home. She eats anything served for breakfast anytime during the day.  That brought the wonderful idea of packing it for school lunches as well.  I always get a high success rate of a clean lunchbox and a happy tummy after school.

Due to my daily crazy schedules, I have lost track of the exact dates I sent in a particular meal. Everyday, I took pictures, upload them in a batch to my image web host, copy the link to blogger, and save just whenever I find time.  I didn't like the idea of a daily stress of coming up with a post anymore. Just because of the high demands of my kids.  I assist with homeworks after school, and re-teach what was learned in school.  Just to make sure they retain it well for chapter tests in the future.

So one school day, Missy A brought breakfast for school lunch.

Breakfast Sushi & More

What is the easiest and simplest lunch to pack on your menu?
Believe it or not, it's sushi rolls for us.  I can make hundreds of them without any fuss.
And the kids love them no matter what the filling are. They eat them hot or cold.
No questions asked.

I know that I've been blogging about planning and preparing ahead of time is still the best policy on lunch-packing.  They cut the preparation process in half the time.  Making your mornings stress-free and more relaxing.  To be honest with you, that is not quite true in my case. I brainstorm at night instead and do all the preps the following morning. The kids preferred them packed fresh everyday. It must taste better and fresher.

But I still plan ahead of time by planning our weekly menu, and shop for the ingredients on weekends. I want ingredients available when the need arises.

Summer Mealtime: His and Her Breakfast

What would be lovely to wake up with?

Perhaps a breakfast in bed. But not in our household. We don't tolerate meals outside the dining room, unless necessary.  Well we have a long list for that so I hope you know what I mean "unless necessary."  If I could keep foods on our banquet table, I'd have them there. I dislike ants and other bugs creeping around our house that's why.

But to keep my family healthy, I always provide nutritious breakfast for them to look forward to every morning. Individual request are always granted as long as they eat something nutritious with it.

A Breakfast Bento for HER: Yan Yan Pretzel and Choco dip, hard-boiled eggs
artistically cut for an appealing meal. Cherries and blueberries on the side.

Happy eating!!

This morning my daughter and I walked in at JJ Bakery for some pineapple buns and ham & cheese breads.  These are among my kids' favorite steals at JJ.  So I get it whenever I have the chance to pass-by.  It was amazing having breakfast with my 5 y.o. girl while waiting for her preschool afternoon session. The chats were non-stop, and they were filled with girly stuffs I used to do when I was younger.  It was nice to reminisce while munching on something you both enjoy.
