Summer is our most awaited season of the year.
It means a lot of things in our household.
School break
Picnics & Gatherings
Zoos & Amusement Parks
Gardening & Sand Play
Beaches & Vacation Galore
Those are easy to plan. But linking which lunches to prepare are pretty challenging.
When I think of summer, I get vast ideas of it but wouldn't exactly know how to execute. So I turned to summer-themed books to make them come alive.
Lunch is served!
Chili on yellow flower silicone cups to represent the SUN,
caterpillar onigiri, tall nori grass with carrot florets all over.
Strawberries on the side.

Since we love gardens, lunch today was inspired by
Denise Fleming's book, In the Tall, Tall Grass.
"If you were a fuzzy caterpillar crawling through the tall, tall grass on a sunny afternoon, what would you see? Beginning as the sun is high in the sky and ending as fireflies blink and the moon rises above, this backyard tour is one no child will want to miss."
And found this PDF activity page that will help children
further connect with the book.
