Bento at Work: Fish & Veggie

I pack lunches to hub daily but I seldom feature it. Why? Most of the time he packs his own lunches to work. And you guessed that right. He'd normally just toss dinner leftovers into his glass bento box whichever way he wanted it.  But ever since I got our Easy LunchBoxes, he packed better on his own. Then I started taking pictures of his bento works, which he lets me before leaving for work.  On his ELB, he packed multi-grain brown rice, grilled red snapper, salted eggs & tomatoes, and garlic spinach.  All home-cooked the night before.

Bento At Work: Shanghai Eggrolls & Bean Sprout

I know that this does not come regularly, but there are days that I just have to do it, especially by special request.  I got one today by HUB.  And so I complied. But cute lunches aren't allowed. So I just have to pack whatever I could.

He normally wants his lunches on a glass dish with a rubberized lid. He dislikes plastic especially when reheating stuffs on the microwave. For some reason, he agreed when I offered the Easy Lunchboxes.  My guess?  He must have seen it in his work place too.
Gotta find out who's packing on ELBs.

For today's lunch, I packed home-made Shanghai Eggrolls cut into halves, brown rice, and bean sprouts. For your information, my eggroll is packed with grated vegetables. I hid it on ground meat & shrimp so no one would even detect it.  And they're crunchy and yummy as ever.

Bon appetit!

Homemade Taho (Tau-Huay), Sweetened Tofu

It is one of my favorite childhood memories.

I like it warm and sweet.

Best of all it is healthy and vegan :)

For those who are having a difficult time liking and eating tofu, this might be a good solution to that problem.  Even picky children love this.  Just let them adjust the sweetness according to their taste.
Picture courtesy of Niceyfemme.  I have used it for visualization purposes
only so as you know how the dessert is prepared.

Day 7: Cheesedog on a Bun & Strawberries, Squash & Long Beans

We're teaming up with fellow food bloggers to host a Brown-Bag Challenge, a month-long initiative to eat consciously and save money by packing a lunch each weekday instead of eating out. Join us here and share what you're eating on Facebook andTwitter with the hashtag #brownbag.

Today is the 3rd week of the brown bag challenge, and it's the 7th day. I packed Cheesedog on a bun with ketchup on the side for my son to school today. Strawberries to complete his lunch.

My husband and I had a Filipino dish called, Sauteed squash & long beans with shrimp paste.  I made use of ground pork instead of shrimp since I'm out of it.  It taste delicious as well.  He packed it with steamed rice and steamed cattlefish with soysauce.  Everyone went home today with a smile and clean lunch boxes like before.
